Vector network analyzer: a type of test equipment for electromagnetic wave energy.
The principle and use of a vector network analyzer directly depend on the dynamic range specification of the system.
The phase fluctuation parameter test is realized by using the Electrical Delay function of the vector network analyzer.

Directly observing the insertion phase shift is usually not very useful, because the electrical length phase shift of a device exhibits a negative slope relative to frequency (the longer the device, the greater the slope). Since only deviations from linear phase shift cause distortion, it is desirable to remove the linear portion of the phase response. Using the electrical delay function of the network analyzer, the electrical length of the device under test can be canceled out, resulting in the deviation from the linear phase shift, i.e., phase fluctuation (distortion).

A vector network analyzer can measure both the amplitude of various parameters of a single-port network or two-port network and the phase; a vector network analyzer can display test data using a Smith chart.

The vector network analyzer has many functions and is known as the "king of instruments"; it is the multimeter of the RF and microwave field, and its technical requirements for users are still relatively high; vector network analyzers are mainly classified by frequency, and the higher the frequency, the higher the price naturally.
