Functions & Configuration
The GW Instek PSU-Series is a DC power supply with a high power density design, featuring a 1U height compatible with 19" Rack Mount Size. It is suitable for test system setup or system integrators, allowing flexible selection and integration into existing test systems. The PSU Series features superior voltage and current control functions and includes a total of 15 models, with output voltage/current ranging from 6V/200A to 600V/2.6A, suitable for different test environments and devices under test, including electronic component testing, micro-resistance, relays and shunt resistors, 12V/24V/48V battery simulation, and automotive electronic device testing.
The PSU high-voltage series is suitable for the primary-side input of DC/DC converters, and is also suitable for servo motor production applications. The PSU is also often integrated into component measurement systems, such as capacitor aging test equipment with 600V DC bias applications; diode aging test equipment; semiconductor production equipment; automotive electronics, ECU testing of 8-cylinder gasoline engines or 12-cylinder diesel engines, etc.
By combining the same model of PSU units in series or parallel, the total output power, total current, or total voltage can be increased. This covers a wider range of voltage and current outputs to fully meet various different measurement voltage or current requirements. The PSU-Series is a programmable DC power supply with a single output power from 1200W to 1560W, and the PSU-Series provides 2 series connection modes (limited to models below 300V) or 4 parallel connection modes. Therefore, the maximum voltage of this series after series connection is 600V; the maximum current after parallel connection is 800A and the maximum output power is 6.24 kilowatts.
The PSU-Series is a power supply with configurable constant current (CC) priority or constant voltage (CV) priority. For the PSU-Series power supply, in constant voltage or constant current mode, the slew rate of its output voltage or current can be adjusted according to the user's test requirements. The slew rate setting is divided into two types: high-speed priority or slew-rate priority. In the high-speed priority slew rate setting, the current or voltage change in constant current (CC) or constant voltage (CV) mode is performed at the highest speed. In the slew-rate priority mode, the user is allowed to adjust the slew rate in constant current (CC) or constant voltage (CV) mode. This function can be used to adjust and control the rising slew rate or falling slew rate. The slew-rate priority mode is suitable for motor testing, adjusting the output voltage rise time, suppressing the inrush current at startup, and protecting the device under test.
The PSU also provides USB, LAN, RS-232, RS-485, analog control interfaces, and optional GPIB, isolated analog interface (voltage control type), and isolated analog interface (current control type), making it the 1U power supply with the most complete interface support in the industry. Through the PSU Multi-Drop mode, when using LAN, USB, and GPIB remote programming and slave expansion, there is no need to additionally use a switch/Hub or GPIB cable. This helps customers avoid purchasing additional expansion devices for connecting slave units during LAN and USB communication.
The PSU-Series provides users with flexible settings for High/Low Level or Trigger input or Trigger output signals with a pulse width of 1 ~ 60ms. Trigger input can control the PSU to output or load the default voltage, current, and memory parameters according to the settings. Conversely, when the PSU outputs or loads the default voltage, current, and memory parameters, it can also generate a corresponding Trigger output signal from the PSU.
