Functions & Configuration
The GPP series multi-channel programmable DC power supply offers output power up to 385W and includes six models: the single-channel output GPP-1326, the dual-channel output GPP-2323, the three-channel output GPP-3323, GPP-3060, and GPP-6030, and the four-channel output GPP-4323. This series not only provides independent output switches for each channel, but also offers 1mV/0.1mA setting resolution, low ripple noise characteristics of ≦350uVrms/≦2mArms, and ≦50uS output transient recovery capability.
For series and parallel use of CH1 and CH2, the GPP's Tracking Function uses internal circuitry to automatically switch the output terminals to series or parallel output without the need for additional external wiring, providing users not only with convenience in operating procedures but also with more stable output; the Tracking Function designs of other manufacturers still require additional external wiring connections for series or parallel output, yet external wiring that is too long, too thin, or inconsistent may cause inaccurate voltage or current output.
The GPP series provides up to 7 display modes (varies by model), including set values, measured values, and waveform display for single or multiple channels. Using the GPP series' output monitoring function (Monitor), users can set test conditions according to their needs, generate alarms or stop output during measurement, abort measurement, and protect the customer's device under test; the output recording function can be applied to record the GPP series' output voltage and current and save them as (*.REC) or (*.CSV) files, for users to import into PC software for graphical analysis or load into Excel for analysis themselves.
The GPP's CH1/CH2 are designed with a load (Load) function, so a single power supply can satisfy basic battery charge/discharge testing. Channel 1 (Ch1) and Channel 2 (Ch2) can not only provide power output, but also have built-in constant voltage sink (CV), constant current sink (CC), and up to 1KΩ constant resistance sink (CR) functions, so users do not need to use an additional electronic load for discharge testing.
Channel 1 (Ch1) and Channel 2 (Ch2) of the GPP series provide a sequential output function (Sequence). This function not only allows users to edit power output waveforms themselves, but also allows users to set sequential constant voltage (CV) or constant current (CC) sink functions, for example, sequential power output or dynamic load simulation testing. To simplify waveform editing, the GPP series' sequential output function has 8 common waveforms built into the Templet waveform, including Sine, Pulse, Ramp, Stair Up, Stair Dn, Stair UpDn, Exp Rise, and Exp Fall waveforms, for users to directly call for output.
Comprehensive protection functions OVP/OCP/OPP/OTP, among which the OVP/OCP/OTP functions' protection mechanisms are implemented with hardware circuits, which, compared with competitors that implement protection with software, have the advantage of fast response time. The OVP/OCP functions allow users to set protection trigger points according to the conditions of the device under test (except CH3 of the GPP-3323). OPP is activated only when the load function is operating. The Delay Function can control the length of time during which Channel 1 (Ch1) or Channel 2 (Ch2) power output is on or off.
In addition, the Trigger In/Trigger Out function can synchronize external devices; the GPP-3323/3060/6030 Channel 3 (Ch3) adds a 3A USB (Type A) output terminal, which can be used for USB charging tests; the intelligent temperature-controlled fan can adjust its speed according to the temperature of the power devices to reduce unnecessary noise. The output value settings and the Sequence/Delay/Recorder functions each provide 10 sets of memory for use, and can be loaded/saved using a USB flash drive. In addition to the standard RS-232C and USB remote interfaces, the GPP series also has optional LAN or LAN+GPIB interfaces to accommodate different user needs. The commands comply with SCPI requirements and are compatible with the commands of the GPD-x303S series DC power supplies.
