Functions & Configuration

The GSP-9330 is a 3.25GHz high-speed spectrum analyzer with a fastest sweep speed of 204uS. Users can easily process and analyze modulated signals through the fast sweep time. The key to modulated signal processing is fast sweep time and signal demodulation. In addition to analog AM/FM demodulation and analysis functions, the GSP-9330 also provides demodulation and analysis functions for ASK/FSK and 2FSK digital signals. Today, EMC issues are critical to the product design process. Therefore, the GSP-9330 incorporates an EMC pre-compliance solution to facilitate EMC testing. The GSP-9330's simple EMC pre-compliance process greatly shortens the time to market for users' products.

A. Fast Signal Sweep
For spectrum analyzers, speed is an important specification. The GSP-9330 provides sweep speeds of up to 204us. Users can identify and analyze various fast or transient signals through the fast sweep time, such as frequency/amplitude modulated signals, Bluetooth frequency hopping signals, tuned voltage-controlled oscillators, or other interfering signals in the ISM band.

B. Modulated Signal Analysis
2FSK modulation is widely used in low-power and low-data-rate RF communication applications due to its low design cost and low power consumption. Today, 2FSK modulation technology is used in a large number of different products and systems, such as consumer electronics, automotive electronics, RFID, automatic meter reading, and industrial control devices, etc. The parameters that can be measured by 2FSK analysis include carrier power, FSK frequency deviation, carrier frequency & carrier frequency offset measurement. Users can set judgment conditions for frequency deviation and carrier offset to quickly determine test results.
RFID and optical communication systems often use Amplitude Shift Keying (ASK), while many applications such as cordless phones, paging systems, and RFID use Frequency Shift Keying (FSK). The parameters measured by ASK/FSK demodulation and analysis include modulation depth, frequency deviation, carrier power and carrier frequency offset, symbol code and waveform. Users can set pass/fail test results for modulation depth, frequency deviation, carrier power and carrier offset. It also provides a function to judge preamble & sync for data messages.
The parameters measured by AM/FM signal analysis include modulation depth, frequency deviation, modulation rate, carrier power, carrier frequency offset and SINAD. Users can set judgment conditions for modulation depth, frequency deviation, carrier power and carrier offset to perform quick test results. The AM/FM demodulation function can demodulate and listen to AM or FM broadcast signals.

C.  EMC Pre-compliance Test Solution
The GSP-9330 has built-in EMI-dedicated 200/9k/120k/1MHz filters, a 20dB low-noise amplifier and Quasi-Peak/Average detection modes. Users can perform the required tests in the EMC Pretest function on the machine, and can also pair it with kits for radiated and conducted testing.
For the radiated test kit, GKT-008 provides a complete near-field probe set that simplifies complex measurements and simulates the laboratory's 3m/10m far-field test, greatly saving engineers the time and cost of debugging and traveling to and from the laboratory; it can also be paired with the GSP-9330's Tracking Generator function to perform EMS testing.
For the conducted test part, it can be paired with a LISN and an Isolated Transformer to perform electromagnetic conducted measurements. If you are concerned that the voltage variation at the DUT side is large or complex, you can also pair it with a Transient Limiter to make the test equipment even safer.

The English term for spectrum analyzer isSpectrum Analyzer, abbreviated as spectrum analyzer.

Spectrum Analyzer Principles

In a broad sense, the signal spectrum refers to the total set of all frequency components that make up a signal; in a narrow sense, in general spectrum measurements, the amplitude spectrum that varies with frequency is often referred to as the spectrum.

Spectrum measurement: measuring each frequency component of a signal in the frequency domain to obtain various parameters of the signal.

Main Parameters of Spectrum Analyzers

The main parameters of a spectrum analyzer are as follows:

Frequency specifications: input frequency range, frequency span, frequency resolution, frequency accuracy, aging rate, resolution bandwidth, display bandwidth

Amplitude specifications: amplitude measurement accuracy, dynamic range, phase noise, noise floor, 1dB compression point, maximum input level, attenuator, preamplifier

Spectrum Analyzer Applications

In wireless communication equipment, components and system measurement applications, spectrum analyzers are widely used measuring instruments. They measure and display the frequency distribution of RF signals. Information such as the frequency and amplitude of signals can be measured and read through a spectrum analyzer. Spectrum analyzers have a very wide range of applications, including remote control testing, Bluetooth testing,EMC electromagnetic compatibility testing (conducted/radiated), P1dB testing, amplifier testing, filter testing, mobile phone repair testing, cable loss testing, repeater testing, and more.

GW Instek officially entered the RF field in1999, and its products have developed rapidly over the decades since. The current products cover a frequency range of 1GHz-3.25GHz. The spectrum analyzers designed by GW Instek feature extremely fast test speeds, ultra-fast sweep times, rich signal demodulation functions, and integrated EMI/EMC Pretest functionality, making EMI/EMC testing faster.

Modulated Signal Analysis and Demodulation

GW Instek spectrum analyzers have powerful modulated signal analysis and demodulation functions. They come standard with analysis and demodulation functions forAM(amplitude modulation), FM (frequency modulation), ASK (amplitude shift keying), FSK (frequency shift keying).

Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Applications

EMI/EMC Pretest test solutions can discover EMI/EMC problems at an early stage and handle and prevent them in a timely manner, helping to accelerate the time to market for products.

The radiated test kitGKT-008 provides a complete near-field probe set that simplifies complex measurements and simulates the laboratory's 3m/10m far-field test, greatly saving engineers the time and cost of debugging and traveling to and from the laboratory; GKT-008 can also be used with the GSP-9330's Tracking Generator function to perform EMS testing.

For the conducted test part, it can be paired with a Line Impedance Stabilization Network(LISN) and an Isolated Transformer to perform electromagnetic conducted measurements. If a contact probe is needed for debugging, if you are concerned that the voltage variation at the DUT side is large or complex, you can also pair it with a transient limiter to make the test equipment safer.

GSP Series: The GSP series spectrum analyzers are equipped with flexible and convenient functions and a user-friendly operation panel. Through a complete setup menu, they can be widely applied in the fields of experimentation, measurement and repair services. The GSP series represents a significant achievement in GW Instek's design technology. Many functions are designed to perform high-stability measurements, further signal analysis and high-performance measurements. It adopts full-temperature frequency stability and an integrated high-efficiency heat dissipation mechanism to maintain stability and accurate measurement. Topographic and spectrogram display modes have been developed to interpret signals in color temperature patterns to perform signal persistence and time. It also provides various measurement functions such as SEM, ACPR, OCBW, CNR, CTB, CSO measurement, and marker frequency counter. The sequence function allows a series of measurement steps to be established and executed without connecting to. The common ports included are all included in the remote control design.
