A lock-in amplifier is a measuring instrument used to detect repetitive signals (AC) buried in noise. It can also be regarded as a highly sensitive AC voltmeter with noise immunity. During measurement, except in some special cases, a reference signal is required. Generally, the signal source used for measurement is directly connected to the reference signal input terminal. It is widely used in physical and chemical research fields such as spectroscopic analysis.

Functions & Configuration
NF Corporation, with its rich experience and cutting-edge technology in lock-in amplifiers, makes the fullest use of the high-speed computing capability of the digital signal processor (DSP), significantly improving the high speed of functional equipment and measurement response and the stability of output, greatly enhancing compatibility with computer data, and thoroughly pursuing improved operability and reduced cost.
High stability Except for the preamplifier used for input, all circuits are digitally designed, featuring high stability and low drift. In the high-sensitivity range, the output zero drift is reduced to an extremely small level. Phase stability reaches 0.01o/oC, and gain stability reaches ±100ppm/oC. Such superior stability forms the technical basis for high resolution reaching 41/2 digits, low-noise performance with an input-referred noise voltage of 4.5nV/ Hz and a phase noise of 0.001o, and brings ample reliability to the measurement of minute signals.
Measurement can start from 1 mHz Measurement starting from 1 mHz has been realized, which is unimaginable in analog lock-in amplifiers. This product provides a completely new method for the analysis of low-speed phenomena such as infrared spectroscopy and temperature response. Because it adopts a digital method, it offers high stability, so there is no need to worry about drift during measurement. For the reference signal, locking takes only about 2 cycles, which brings great convenience to low-frequency signal measurement.
Fast and smooth response "Fast and smooth measurement response" The minimum time constant of the waveform detection section is 10μs. The DC output digital-to-analog (D/A) conversion achieves a high speed and high accuracy of up to 256k samples/second at 16 bits. High-speed response results can be obtained at any time not only in X-Y mode but also in R-θ output mode. The storage speed of digital data reaches up to 16k samples/second. In addition, a synchronous filter that can measure the moving average within the signal period is newly provided. In this way, even for a very small time constant, the ripple component in the measured value can be greatly reduced. Moreover, this synchronous filter can be applied over the full frequency range. We invite all users to fully appreciate its fast and smooth response characteristics.
"Instant response to setting changes as well" Even if settings such as phase or sensitivity are changed during measurement, since the previous values can be converted into values under the new settings, the response of the measured value is fast and reliable. Thus, even when the time constant is large, there is no need to wait for the response of that long time constant.
Simple operation method This product allows one-way settings from left to right in the order of signal input, filter, dynamic reserve, sensitivity, and time constant. The key layout is simple and clear, avoiding setting errors. When measuring an unknown input signal, an extremely convenient Auto-Set key is available for selection. There are 3 large displays, which are more conducive to accurately reading settings and measured values. In addition, a Modify Dial and an analog indicator are provided, allowing you to experience the performance of the digital lock-in amplifier in an analog way.
