GPT-9900 SeriesSafety Compliance TestersAvailable in two models: the GPT-9904 is a 4-in-1 unit offering AC/DC hipot testing, insulation resistance testing, and AC ground bond testing; the GPT-9903/9903A provide AC/DC hipot and insulation resistance testing; the GPT-9902A provides AC/DC hipot testing; and the GPT-9901A provides AC hipot testing. The entire series delivers 500 VA AC output and employs a high-efficiency PWM amplifier to effectively suppress the effects of input voltage fluctuations and waveform distortion, ensuring a stable high-voltage output to the device under test during AC hipot testing.

The GPT-9900 series safety testers from GW Instek combine high stability, safety-focused design, and a fresh new look to meet the safety testing requirements of IEC, EN, UL, CSA, GB, JIS and other standards for a wide range of electronic and electrical products and components.
The GPT-9900 seriessafety testersincludes two models: the GPT-9904 is a 4-in-1 unit offering AC/DC hipot testing, insulation resistance testing, and AC ground bond testing; the GPT-9903/9903A provides AC/DC hipot and insulation resistance testing; the GPT-9902A provides AC/DC hipot testing; and the GPT-9901A provides AC hipot testing. All models deliver 500VA AC output and use a high-efficiency PWM amplifier to effectively suppress the effects of input voltage fluctuation and waveform distortion, ensuring a stable high-voltage output to the DUT during AC hipot testing.
With safety in mind, the GPT-9900 series employs both software and hardware control to provide features such as power-on self-test, zero-start, detection of abnormal output voltage during testing, and rapid cut-off of output voltage (150μs) when the upper/lower limits are exceeded; it even requires a special interlock terminal to be connected before the tester will output normally. In addition, an automatic discharge is performed after each test to prevent excessive residual test voltage on the DUT from injuring the user.
For operation, observation, and measurement performance, the GPT-9900 series offers a scan function built directly into the instrument via software. After completing a test, the user can enter scan mode to view the analysis curve of the results, select any point in time during the test to analyze the voltage-versus-current relationship (when ACW or DCW is selected), or set a start time to scan the results over a specific period and analyze the local voltage-versus-current relationship. The GPT-9900 series also features a streamlined keypad design, a highly legible dot-matrix blue LCD, and high-brightness LEDs in different colors as status indicators, making setup and measurement reading easier and more intuitive. In terms of core test functions, it provides AC hipot (AC 5kV/100mA), DC hipot (DC 6kV/20mA), insulation resistance (DC 50V~1000V/50GΩ), and ground bond testing (AC 32A max./650mΩ), together with output adjustment resolution, measurement resolution, voltage ramp time settings, and upper/lower limit judgment settings, enabling users to perform the required tests and obtain accurate measurement results.
Other features and functions of the GPT-9900 series include: rear-panel output for easy system integration; open-circuit detection (ground bond test only) to prevent false readings caused by broken connections; 100 memory groups for storing different test conditions; multiple memory groups can be combined for automatic sequential testing; and front-panel remote terminals / rear-panel Signal I/O, giving users a more convenient, application-specific way to control the start/stop output of the safety tester. For users who need PC control and test-result logging, RS-232C, USB, and GPIB (optional) interfaces are also provided.
