Delay Mode Generator (Six-Channel Pulse Generator)

This generator easily generates pulses for six independent channels, as well as complicated pulses required for testing inverters.

Operation Mode The operation mode option supports continuous operation testing. Synchronization of Multiple Generators The Fast Synchronization option enables three generators (18 channels) to output data in synchronization.

Parameter Settings and Output Examples for Six-Channel Independent Pulse Output

output example
■Basic Mode
Pulses can be easily generated by specifying any correlation, delay value, and width value for each of the six channels.
The output level can also be specified individually for each channel.
output exampleOutput example when the pulse widths of channels 1 to 3 are changed simultaneously■Tracking Function
For any channel combination, pulse width, delay time, and other settings can be changed simultaneously.

Signal Generation Method and Output Examples for the Inverter Option

output example■Single-Phase Bipolar Output in Inverter Mode
Pulses can be easily generated by specifying the carrier frequency (Fc), modulation frequency (Fm), and modulation degree (i.e., the ratio of the modulation wave amplitude to the carrier amplitude).
output example■Two Three-Phase Levels in Inverter Mode
Pulses can be easily generated by specifying the carrier frequency (Fc), modulation frequency (Fm), and modulation degree (i.e., the ratio of the modulation wave amplitude to the carrier amplitude).

Gap control prevents upper and lower devices from turning on simultaneously

A short circuit is dangerous.waveforms

If the U-phase and X-phase devices in the figure above turn on at the same time, a short circuit occurs, which is dangerous.
The DG-8000 gap time control function automatically generates the specified dead time, as shown in the figure. Even if the frequency or period changes, the dead time remains constant. The gap time can be changed even during oscillation. A negative value can also be specified to make the devices turn on simultaneously.

Independent control of the time axis and vertical axis

Changing the frequencyChanging the output level
Changing the frequencyChanging the output level

Parameters related to the time axis and parameters related to the vertical axis are controlled separately.
These parameters can be changed manually or using remote commands.

Supports "OR" output on channel 1

Channel 1 has an "OR" output function that logically adds the 12 pulses of the specified channels and outputs the result.

Easy generation of pulse width modulation signals

The inverter and PPG options enable you to output control signals for step-down choppers, single-phase unipolar, single-phase bipolar, and two three-phase levels.
The modulation frequency and modulation depth can be changed even during oscillation.
This facilitates inverter testing because it is possible to obtain an output to which pulse width modulation generated by an internal sine wave and triangular wave is applied.

waveformsConfiguration example: DG-8000 main unit: 1, DG-801 inverter and PPG option: 1
Note 1: The modulating wave is for explanation only. This wave is not output in a real environment.

When the PPG function is used, the generator is used as a signal generator for complex logic on six channels using predetermined pulse patterns.
Waveform patterns can be created using the waveform creation application (provided free of charge).

Variable control of pulse width modulation signal frequency

The operation mode option facilitates continuous operation testing because it supports variable control of frequency and modulation depth (in inverter mode only).
This control mode is controlled using predetermined arbitrary waveforms. These waveforms can be created using the waveform creation application (provided free of charge).

waveformsThe figure on the left shows an example of frequency modulation using a trapezoidal wave.
Configuration example: DG-8000 main unit: 1, DG-801 inverter and PPG option: 1, DG-802 operation mode option: 1
Note 1: The modulating wave is for explanation only. This wave is not output in a real environment.

In inverter mode, by using the error insertion function, fault patterns can be inserted periodically within the gap time.

Application example: Continuous operation testing of solenoid valves and other components that control solenoid valves

The external modulation option supports external control of the following functions:
- Modulation of pulse width and delay in basic mode
- Modulation depth control in inverter mode
- Frequency and modulation depth of the control operation mode
Configuration example: DG-8000 main unit: 1, DG-802 operation mode option: 1, DG-601 external modulation option:

Conventional device configuration example and Device configuration example using DG-8000

Three generators operating in parallel support 18-channel output

The fast synchronization option quickly synchronizes up to three generators by connecting multiple BNC cables to the rear panel. If one of the generators fails, the other two also stop as a fail-safe when this function is used.

Configuration example: DG-8000 main unit: 3, DG-602 fast synchronization option: 3
6 channels + 6 channels + 6 channels = 18 channels
